Embroidery kit “Painted Distaff”

The embroidery kit “Painted Distaff” was created by our designer Galina inspired by the distaffs with boretskaya painting (folk craft of Borok village, located in northern Russia). The distaff was a necessary tool for any woman in the old days, the owner was proud of her colorful distaff and hung it in the most prominent place in the house. Ochraceous horses, harnessed to a carriage, a lush blooming bush surrounded by bright fairy birds, ornaments, the predominance of shades of red, — all these elements are peculiar to the North-Russian style of painting, they could be, and they were depicted at the old distaffs. Our new design is bridging the past to the present. The contour of the embroidery follows the shape of a distaff upper element. The vintage fabric is similar to the texture of wood. The hand-dyed threads allow you to create your own unique “painting” on your distaff. Needlework and creativity last forever!

Please note that there is an opportunity to purchase an article with a wonderful themed wooden bobbin from Ruzanna, P & W: Primitive and wood . The bobbin is made for five colors, it is the amount of colors of threads in the kit. The bobbin will be a great addition to your work.
