Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet "Swan Lake" is a world-famous masterpiece.
The plot of the ballet was based on old Germanic legends, Tchaikovsky was inspired by a trip to Bavaria and the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. The evil wizard Rothbar has kidnapped and bewitched beautiful girls. The spell works during the day, and at night, in the light of the moon, the enchanted swans shed their wings, becoming girls again. Prince Siegfried, seeing the queen of swans - Odette, falls in love with her, and wants to break the spell. This is possible if the prince's love is true and eternal, but if the vow of love is broken, the beauty will forever remain a swan. At a ball in the castle, the evil wizard introduces his daughter Odile to the prince, and the prince takes her for his beloved. This is a sad but very beautiful story.
